Archive for May, 2004This week is the first of a two part interview with Mark Thomas, President and CEO of Independent Natural Resources, Inc. . They have developed an alternative means for generating power by converting ocean wave energy into electricity. This first interview covers the technology behind the Sea Dog Pump. Next week we talk about their plans for staging a test installation here in Humboldt County. Andrew Cohill who was the keynote speaker at the recent Redwood Technology Consortium’s Tech Expo, has given high praise to the RTC for its work in the community and advancing intelligent use of technology on the North Coast. His blog, BTW is an excellent source for news and commentary on tehcnology issues and how they affect communities. Well I managed to get the 2nd and 3rd shows online here as MP3s. Have an error in the Andrew Cohill show so I need to go back to KHSU and get a fresh copy. I’ll keep them on the right here for a while until I can implement a better style sheet. These shows are a little rough and take a lot of time to edit down to 5 minutes or so. It’s a struggle right now, but I hope to improve both my on-air and editing skills. Many thanks to Charles Horn, Development Director for KHSU who has been acting as my engineer. He’s been dong a great job! This is a new blog focused on the new KHSU (90.5 FM) radio spot, Talking Tech. The spot airs on Wednesdays during the Home Page program, 1:00-1:30 PM. Talking Tech focuses on issues and innovation in technology on the North Coast of California. So far, I have done three shows:
I intend to post the acutal interviews here shortly for those that missed the broadcast and would like to listen. |
