Times -Standard Expands RSS Feeds

At long last a local paper has started providing RSS feeds for its web site. The Times-Standard started offering a “Most Viewed” feed a few weeks ago. But as I wrote earlier, that’s not of much interest.  Now, they are offering a “Local News” and a “Sports” feed. Let’s hope the other local papers (at least the Eureka Reporter and North Coast Journal) follow suit.

I can’t find the feed URLs. Would it kill them to use the ‘link rel=”alternate” type=”application/rss+xml”‘ tag to tell browsers what the RSS links are?

    Local News:
    http://rss.mnginteractive.com/live/TimesStandard/TimesStandard_26.xml

    Sports: http://rss.mnginteractive.com/live/TimesStandard/TimesStandard_100002.xml

They’re right on the home page. But if you actually go to the sections, the RSS buttons don’t appear.
