Back in the 70′s I spent a week at the Mt. Calvary Benedictine Monastery in the hills above Santa Barbara. The Monastery stay was a wonderful, peaceful retreat during a tumultuos time in my life. No one spoke. The silence was a solace. This week the silence of the Monastery was broken by the roar of the fire and it was destroyed.
