The Social Media Revolution?

Some people think social media is a fad. It’s possible that the tools we know today such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and so many others are fads. But is the trend itself going to fade? What do you think? Is it a fad a powerful shift in the way we communicate and consume information and goods?

    I can say the BBS fad is dead, but it evolved into the blogs and forums that we see today. Facebook is just an evolution of this same trend. The only difference we will see in the future is flash will go the way of ANSI. One can hope, at least.

    Sys RQ’s comment brought me to the conclusion that though I don’t find social media very useful yet, like other developing technologies, I will grouse about them as they evolve and then find myself using them.
