Back in 12/99 the Wall Street Journal ran a great article on the tech to look forward to in the upcoming decade and nanomachines were in there. I was interested because I was working on a manuscript that dealt with them. Once you dive into this subject it is equal parts fascinating and horrific when you see just what can be done.

"I do not devote any attention to astrology as I think it’s bunk."

...whaaatever. Gou glance at the horoscope in the paper once in awhile if it's in front of you and apply as necessary...has nothing to do with who wrote the horoscope or what it says, but an alternate way of thinking that is just as legitimate as any other, maybe moreso. Instinct and intuition, time as an illusion.

Occam's razor...if you were born and raised in the jungle, everything to do with space unrelated to planetary happenstance would be irrelevant. It has to do with instinct and intuition...completely non-voodoo subject, for you to write it off like that. Put yourself in other shoes. Tribal societies lasted eons, listening to "astrologists". Ours is already on its way out under the guidance of "astronomers".

The mayans, btw, didn't predict the end of the world, but the beginning of a new calander.

No. I do not devote any attention to astrology as I think it's bunk. Just because something has been around a long time does not give it legitimacy. That's a common logical fallacy: http://theness.com/neurologicablog/index.php/the-argument-from-antiquity/

Wow, that for real? That reads like a schoolyard clique diss. Totally brainless bashing, coming from somebody of your stature. Irrelevant unprovable suppositions? Be honest, do really devote any attention to "astrology" the first place? As in, how it might apply to you? You know better than anybody, your own superstitions...to completely write off practices that are as old as humanity itself.

That's because on one side (astrologers) can't deny actual evidence found in science while on the other (astronomers) ignore irrelevant unprovable suppositions. The sides of the coin are not at all equal.

...actually, two sides of the same coin...the intentions of the astronomer aren't the same as those of the astrologist at all. Whereas the astrologist already supposes the astronomer, the astronomer does his best to ignore the astrologist. The coin toss deciding third party focus. Or something.

Great point, but in that same sense, why believe a wealthy clan of former highschool astronomy geeks turned certified stuffed suits who read The Economist and ridicule all things "supernatural"? Not even two sides of the same coin, but the same side of the same coin, just painted differently.

"What if everybody born during a time..." Well, what if the moon really were made if cheese?

But even if we were to accept this supposition, who among us could possibly interpret all the meanings of all the particles and their positions at any given time? Certainly not the charlatans that call themselves astrologists.

I agree. The video is nauseating.
