You might remember the film that was shot here a while back called, ironically, Humboldt County. It’s still out there and most recently got some good notices at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin. According the directors’ blog, the film has finally been sold to a distributor and is scheduled for a limited release this Fall. But in a post script to the latest blog post, director Danny Jacobs hints that the film may get a screening sooner and closer to home.
Humboldt County Soon In Humboldt County?

Pot grows are happening nationwide now, due to demand, but from a marketing point of view it’s important that Humboldt County strengthen the branding and leverage the legendary quality so that the value of local weed remains high in other markets.
Or not.
Whatever.
What were we talking about?
Sure. If you think a story about pot growers will make HC look good. Actually, from what I hear, the pot growing part is really somewhat incidental to the real story which has more to do with relationships than Chech and Chong or Kumar and what’s his face.
But I also understand that the publicity will emphasize the leaf.
The latest blog post says we’ll get the film here some time in August.
I’m sure that they’ll make us look good.
